Oriol Farrés Juste

Oriol Farrés Juste was born in Sabadell in 1980. He now lives in Molins de Rei, is married and has three children. He is a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He was awarded with the Extraordinary Prize in the Philosophy Degree at the UAB. After writing his doctoral thesis on the construction of republican citizenship (2008), he worked as an associate lecturer at the University of Girona (UdG) and as an English teacher in secondary education. He has collaborated as an opinion columnist in El Punt Avui and Nació Digital. He has translated philosophical works from English into Catalan and Spanish, and has published in specialised academic journals. He is currently the coordinator of the Master in Applied Philosophy (UAB-UdG) and a member of the Humanistic Group of Studies in Science and Technology (GEHUCT). His areas of research are rhetoric, bioethics and political philosophy.
